Monday Movie Night at Terry Fox Library
Mondays can be tough! So why not end this one with a movie night at Terry Fox Library?! A variety of films will be shown, so there’s something for the everyone at this Movie Night! This is the perfect event to bring the whole family to! It’s cost free and there will be fresh popcorn served of course! This event will be from 6-8pm at Terry Fox Library in Port Coquitlam.
Vegan Meals from an Indian Kitchen Cooking Class – Eden West Gourmet
Indian cuisine is a wonderful choice for anyone vegan who is trying to spice up their meals. The fresh produce and spices elevate the meals to a unique and exciting culinary experience. This Tuesday, join in at Eden West Gourmet for their Vegan Indian Cooking Class! You will make a number of dishes that will make your taste buds sing! Men’s Consciousness Awareness Group at White Lotus Divin
If you’ve read our blogs before, you’ve definitely heard us talk about one of our favourite wellness companies in the area, White Lotus Divine and Healing. If not, they are a wellness company in the Tri-Cities that focus on helping others on their self healing holistic journey. White Lotus Divine & Healing often holds workshops, sessions and other events nearly daily for many different types of healing and meditation. On Tuesday, they host their Men’s Consciousness Awareness Group. Conscious men of the area can meet to meditate and discuss a variety of topics, such as relationships, spirituality, work life and more. This is a great opportunity for men who wish to seek self healing and growth. Call the store at 604-937-5540 to register, and the fee is a minimum $10 donation.
Port Moody Ukulele Club:
The Port Moody Ukulele Club is open to all skill levels and interests, and meets the second Wednesday of each month at Gallery Bistro. The doors for this fun event open at 5:30, so if you choose, you can eat a light meal from the Bistro’s delicious kitchen! The playing starts at 6:30 and goes until 8:30, and tunes are picked from the “Heritage Uke Club” for the singalong on these fun Wednesday evenings. This event is a lot of fun for those both experienced in Uke playing and just starting out! Donation for this meet up is a suggestion of $2-5. Feasts of Coquitlam: Seder Dinner
It’s time for another “Feast Around The World” at Coquitlam Heritage. Just in time for Jewish Passover, you will learn the customs and traditions behind a seder dinner! There will be stories told, things to learn, and authentic goodies to try from the seder plate. The evening will end with a warming bowl of Matzoh Ball soup! This event will be held from 6:30-9:30 and tickets can be purchased here.
Blindside: An Eye-popping Comedy
Spending the evening at Blindside: An Eye-popping Comedy is another great way to spend your Thursday! Join in for a unique and out of the box comedy show with Stephanie Morin Robert, as she tells her story of her life as a spirited 7-year-old who uses her glass eye as her own unique superpower. Film Night – The Florida Project
This Friday, grab some friends for another film night at Inlet Theatre! This time, the movie being shown is The Florida Project. Directed by Sean Baker, this film provides a touching and moving lens into childhood as the narrative follows 6 year Moonee and her mother over the course of a Summer in Florida. There’s nothing like seeing a great new movie! Admission for Film Night at Inlet Theatre is $5.
‘How to Best Utilize Your Veggie Garden Space’ Seminar
Did you know, our friends at Amsterdam Greenhouses & Garden Centre often have seminars and workshops on how to make your backyard and garden as beautiful and functional as can be?! These seminars have a variety of topics, and this Saturday, you can learn how to best utilize your veggie garden space! You will learn the best combinations to make your space work, and the instructor will also teach you how to rotate your crops. These seminars are extremely helpful in making the most of your green space, and are held at Amsterdam Greenhouse nearly every weekend! Check out their full list here.
Laughing Matters – 4th Annual Comedy Night Gala
It’s a comedy weekend! On Saturday, join in at Inlet Theatre for Laughing Matters, a comedy show presented by the Gaby Davis Foundation. Enjoy the comedy stylings of Jacob Samuel, Myles Anderson, John Cullen, and Mayce Galoni! There will be light appies served, and of course a lot of laughs to be had! Easter Egg Hunt at PMCC
Families of Tri-Cities! Celebrate Easter early with an Easter Egg hunt at Place Maillardville Community Centre! There will be tons of Easter fun to be had, from an Easter egg hunt, to games and crafts, and you might even get a visit from the Easter bunny! This is a parent participation event, and runs from 1-4pm.
Earth Day in Port Moody
This Sunday, celebrate the only earth we have at Earth Day in Port Moody! There will be an abundance of family friendly activities going on to celebrate our beautiful Earth! There will be Earth-friendly crafts, an opportunity to help plant Port Moody’s “Canada 150” eco-friendly sculpture. For your smaller children, there will be a special Earth day story time presented by Port Moody library, and a screening of The Clean Bin Project, suitable for all ages! Show our Earth some love on Sunday at Earth Day in Port Moody!
