Easter Weekend is nearly upon us! This holiday weekend is always a great time to spend time with family and friends. Whether it’s special to you for reasons of faith, or it’s simply a long weekend that gives extra time for quality time with loved ones, there are many ways to celebrate in the Tri-Cities next weekend! Easter Chocolate Making
This Spring holiday wouldn’t be complete without consuming some chocolate goodies! This year, why not make your own at the Easter Chocolate Making Class at Coquitlam Heritage?! Bring your sweet children to make some even sweeter treats! During this class you will be making bunnies, eggs, rocky road and rice crispy caramel clusters! This class is a parent participation event and for children ages 4-8.
Easter Cupcake Making
Chocolate isn’t the only treat to be consumed during the long weekend! Coquitlam Heritage is also offering an Easter cupcake decorating class on April 20th! You will get to make sweet Spring themed animals: marshmallow bunnies and lambs, coconut chicks and egg candy filled bird’s nests, all beautiful signs of the season! This fun class costs $10, and each participant (ages 8-14) will get to take home six cupcakes! Just enough to last the whole weekend! Click here to register for this awesome class!
Easter Event at Port Moody Station Museum
Port Moody Station Museum is the place to be on Easter Sunday! There will be a plethora of family activities going on the whole family can enjoy! To only name a few, there will be basket making, bunny ear making, even the most classic activity of the holiday, an egg hunt! This event will be $10 for children and free for adults, and runs from 10am until 2pm. You won’t want to miss out on this exciting Easter event!
Easter Morning Story Time
Who doesn’t love story time?! Especially when it’s holiday themed! On Monday the 22nd, from 11:00-11:30, the sweet children of Tri-Cities (and their lovely parents of course!) are invited to the City Centre branch of the Coquitlam library for an Easter and Spring themed story hour! We can’t imagine a nicer way to spend a holiday morning.
Easter Baking – Kids & Adult Cooking Class
What better way to spend a family oriented holiday than an adult & children cooking class at Eden West Gourmet?! Cooking with your kids is an excellent bonding activity, and a way for them to get comfortable in the kitchen with food! This awesome Saturday class will include learning to make the classic Easter pastry, hot cross buns, and decorating pre prepared vanilla cupcakes as sweet bunnies! With the admission of this awesome class, you will get a pan of hot cross buns to take home and bake yourself, and six of your lovely cupcake creations! Brunch at the Boathouse Restaurant
There’s something about eating brunch for a special occasion that gives the holiday a fun, celebratory feel. On Sunday the 21st, bring the whole family down to the BoatHouse in Port Moody for a to die for brunch. There will be a special menu chock full of all your breakfast favourites, and brunch will be served all day! Dawn your Sunday best outfit, bring an appetite, and enjoy a beautiful meal on the water with the ones you love!
